Tuesday & Wednesday (day one & two)

Tuesday, July 15, 1:30 pm we had a great start. It reminded us of windseekers as everyone was coming at us on port and we were on starboard. One guy fouled us good, but we recovered well. After the first 5 minutes the jib sheet broke, we tacked and re-tied it with the other end. Then a minute later is broke again, so we pulled out a spare sheet, working fine now. This all happened before going under the bridge. Tacked up the beach, we are in line with the front of our fleet. Tuesday all were happy drinking their allotment, now Wednesday brings another story. Beam reaching in lumpy seas, 16-20 knots wind with boat speed 8-9. Everyone sick except Gregg and Bruce.

Broken jib sheets? Sounds like someone is getting good practice tying bowlines over and over. Evan is learning to tie them now, but his aren't to the point where you can quite trust them on the sail yet. The 3 of us crewed on Jeopardy last night to get ready for Race Week next week and Susan really engaged Evan in the whole process and now he thinks he's a pro! He'll spend next week with Erin and We'll have it off! Sorry to hear most everyone's green :(. The good news is it will soon pass, but it never feels like soon enough! Have you tried ginger? It seems to work okay for me (in combination with phenergan and a scope patch and maybe some meclazine... :) ) Oh, yeah, and hugging a tree. And about that photo of "Gregg enjoying the sunset", are you sure that's ALL you caught him doing :) ? Hope all are better soonest and keep up the good speed! Don started off to Oak Harbor this morning. He's going to stop and overnight in Edmonds, then I will drive up to Oak Harbor and meet him Friday night after I drop Evan off.

Best og luck to you!

All but Greg and Bruce - I feel your pain. Should have left my extra patches on the boat. You won't be reading this until Kaneohe, but satillite tracking has you guys at 9 knots and looking good.

Hang in there.
